Puschkinia Libanotica - Striped Squill Bulbs

Where to plant Puschkinia bulbs

As mentioned previously, Puschkinia Libanotica or Striped Squill is a rather versatile plant that can be used in a variety of garden or landscape settings. Due to its small stature – Puschkinia grows to a height of around 5-10inches – it can be used as attractive ground cover. It also looks wonderful when planted in rock gardens, in between shrubs, at the base of deciduous trees, and also performs well in pots and containers. Puschkinia bulbs make a wonderful companion plant for other Spring flowers such as daffodils and tulips.

Care for Puschkinia bulbs

Puschkinia or Striped Squill bulbs are very easy to grow and require little special attention. They simply require well-drained soil and to be planted 2-3 inches apart at a depth of around 3-4 inches. Puschkinia bulbs naturalize easily through bulb offsets (baby bulbs on the sides of the mother bulb you’ve planted) as well as by self-sowing seed, and return year after year in greater numbers creating a beautiful Spring display. Foliage should not be removed after bloom until it turns yellow.
