Peonies: Tips & Tidbits

Peonies are long-lasting perennial plants that can survive up to 100 years.
Fresh peony petals can be used in salads or as garnish.
The root and seed have been used for medicinal purposes.
Never spray the ants on your peonies—they help keep your flowers safe!

The first year most peony roots will produce up to five leaf shoots, and perhaps just one or two flowers. In the second year the number doubles, and again in the third year.
